30th July 2009 - Holroyd Howe Independent location wins ACE Clean Kitchen Award
For the third year running The Association of Catering Excellence (ACE) has teamed up with TWO Services Ltd, a leading Kitchen Hygiene Specialist, to organise The ACE Clean Kitchen Award.
Aimed at the Food & Service Management Sector of the Catering Industry both Contractors and In-house Caterers from within London & The Home Counties were invited to put forward one of their kitchens which was then judged on a whole set of criteria ranging from the actual cleanliness of the facilities to the actual procedures laid down to ensure compliance with all food safety requirements.
17 companies entered and after preliminary inspections final judging was undertaken by Geoff Ward, Hygiene, Health & Safety Consultant, with the presentations being made at the ACE Summer Event at London Zoo on 15th.July 2009.
In first place was Lingfield Notre Dame Senior School run by Holroyd Howe Independent who received a cheque for £1500 plus a Stainless Steel plaque, 2nd was Abbott Diabetes Care Ltd run by Autograph Foodservice who received a cheque for £1000 and 3rd, was Network Rail Infrastructure run by Charlton House who received a cheque for £750.
The Association of Catering Excellence (ACE), previously known as the European Catering Association, helps raise the profile and creates an awareness of the opportunities and high standards that exist within the Food & Service Management Sector and The Clean Kitchen Award together with their Ready Steady Cook Team Challenge Event is seen as yet another way of helping to promote standards of excellence within the industry.
TWO Services Ltd., who themselves were recent winners of a business award for Excellent Customer Service sponsored the event and presented the prizes.
