Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is at the very heart of our approach to catering in independent schools and colleges. As an organisation we wholeheartedly encourage the move towards a healthier lifestyle and work hard to establish balanced eating patterns within our schools.

Fresh Food Policy

To demonstrate our commitment to this, we have implemented our own Fresh Food Policy throughout our business. This sets out our expectations and minimum requirements to meet the daily nutritional needs of the students and staff for whom we cater. We are proud to have gained professional recognition for the success of our Fresh Food Policy, receiving the prestigious 'Healthy Eating Award' at a number of our schools.

Nutrition

We employ the services of leading nutritionist, Ed DiPiazza, who works closely with our own food development team to ensure that not only do our menus meet nutritional guidelines, but that we continue to make every effort to encourage healthy eating in our business. We regularly host nutritional presentations at schools and publish information about choosing foods for concentration, energy and balance in a number of fun and informative ways.

Wellbeing

We have created our own healthy eating concept, called 'wellbeing', which consists of a daily selection of nutritious, healthy and delicious meals, sandwiches, salads, snacks, desserts, and beverages. Our aim is to improve the overall knowledge and awareness of healthy eating, and provide pupils and staff with healthy options so that they can make an informed choice.

Wellbeing adheres to the principles of 'getting the balance right', which quite simply means having enough fruit and vegetables, protein, fibre and starchy foods and avoiding too much fat, sugar and salt.
