Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is at the very heart of our approach to catering in independent schools and colleges. As an organisation we wholeheartedly encourage the move towards a healthier lifestyle and work hard to establish balanced eating patterns within our schools.

Fresh Food Policy

To demonstrate our commitment to this, we have implemented our own Fresh Food Policy throughout our business. This sets out our expectations and minimum requirements to meet the daily nutritional needs of the students and staff for whom we cater. We are proud to have gained professional recognition for the success of our Fresh Food Policy, receiving the prestigious 'Healthy Eating Award' at a number of our schools.

Nutrition

We employ the services of a number of nutritionists and dietary consultants, often associated directly with our schools, who work closely with our own food development team to provide expertise and advice, ensuring that not only do our menus meet nutritional guidelines, but that we continue to make every effort to encourage healthy eating in our business. We regularly host nutritional presentations at schools and publish information about choosing foods for concentration, energy and wellbeing, always looking to find fun and informative ways to communicate with the children we feed.

Tina Lond-Caulk, a Registered Nutrition Consultant and parent at Rokeby School, advises,

"Optimum nutrition seeks to perfect the balance of the body on a chemical level. It is very simply giving yourself the best possible intake of nutrients to allow your body to be as healthy as possible and to work as well as it can."
